LLUI DART at ESMAC 2025

At this year’s European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children (ESMAC) conference in Basel, the Data Analytics & Rehabilitation Technology (DART) team at the Lake Lucerne Institute (LLUI) presented new work on monocular computer vision for clinical gait assessment. The project investigates how single-camera video setups can be used to derive clinically relevant movement information that supports everyday neurorehabilitation practice.

The presentation in Basel highlighted how such camera-based systems could complement existing gait analysis tools by lowering costs and simplifying implementation in routine clinical environments. The team demonstrated how movement data extracted from video can be processed and interpreted to inform assessments in a structured and repeatable way.

By contributing these results to ESMAC 2025, LLUI underlined its focus on translating data-driven methods into practical tools for clinicians and patients in neurorehabilitation. The work of DART forms part of LLUI’s broader research activities, which link advanced analytics with real-world clinical needs in rehabilitation and related fields.
