Located in LLUI’s Villa Magdalena, the Genetics Laboratory is a state-of-the-art research facility dedicated to the analysis of human DNA extracted from a variety of tissue sample sources. This laboratory is equipped with advanced technologies to support comprehensive genetic analysis for research purposes. The laboratory operates in full compliance with the Human Research Act (2011). It is primarily utilised for in-depth exploration of sensory phenotypes and genotypes, specifically concerning olfactory and gustatory functions, contributing to a deeper understanding of human genetics and sensory biology.
Key Technologies
The laboratory is fully equipped to extract genetic materials from a variety of human tissue types. Methodologies and reagents are constantly updated to align with the newest standards.
This sample intelligence technology, precisely quantifies and qualifies DNA, RNA, and protein samples in seconds with only 1-2 μL. Provide full-spectral data before ensuring use in downstream applications is effective.
This is a versatile platform, serving various genomic applications. These include single nucleotide polymorphism genotyping, gene expression profiling, microRNA and noncoding RNA analysis, monitoring copy number variations, assessing drug metabolism enzymes, and measuring protein expression levels.
