Portrait

Founded in 2022, the Lake Lucerne Institute (LLUI) is an independent, non-profit research and education institute based in Vitznau, Switzerland. LLUI integrates research, teaching, and practice to generate knowledge with real-world impact and to address key societal and demographic challenges.

LLUI’s academic profile is built on interdisciplinary excellence. The Department of Health conducts leading research in lifelong health promotion and neurorehabilitation, with a focus on movement analysis, data-driven personalised interventions, digital health solutions, brain plasticity, and precision nutrition. In 2024, LLUI launched its Master of Science in Precision Neurorehabilitation (PNR), developed in close collaboration with clinical partners.

Expanding its academic scope, LLUI is currently establishing the Department of Wealth Creation. Guided by the principle of Theoria cum Praxi, the department advances a Finance Research Revolution by combining innovative theoretical insights with rigorous empirical testing to better understand financial decision-making and wealth creation.

Equality, diversity, and inclusion are core institutional values. In 2026, LLUI implemented a Gender Equality Plan (GEP) in accordance with Horizon Europe’s Guidance on GEPs.
