Short introduction of the research group
The Therapy Science Lab at LLUI, is a Lab dedicated to tailoring interventions to patient trajectories, along the rehabilitation continuum, from the hospital and inpatient rehabilitation to at home rehabilitation.
Who stands behind the Research Group?
Led by Professor Christoph Bauer, an esteemed figure in therapy sciences and physiotherapist, the Therapy Science Lab comprises of a committed team of post-doctoral researchers, doctoral candidates, research engineers, students, and state of the art equipment for motion capture and digital therapies. The group consists of therapists, movement scientists, biomedical engineers, software developers, and medical computer scientists working collaboratively to explore tailored rehabilitation.
What are the goals of the research group?
Our vision is rehabilitation where treatment protocols are intelligently, continuously, and seamlessly adapted to the needs of each individual.
Our mission is ubiquitous rehabilitation where interventions are tailored to patient trajectories, along the rehabilitation continuum, from the hospital and inpatient rehabilitation to at home rehabilitation.
In order to achieve this, our immediate goals are to develop and implement innovative therapy concepts in telerehabilitation and to provide scientific support to the cereneo and cereneo at home clinics, across the different therapy domains.
What has the research group achieved so far?
The lab was founded 11 months ago. During this time, the initial research laboratory and scientific staff were set up, the first projects were launched, work on the cereneo therapy concept was supported and applications for third-party funding were submitted together with national and international partners.
In which way does LLUI collaborate with the cereneo clinics and how do the patients at clinics profit from this collaboration?
The research group works with the cerneo – Center for Neurology and Rehabilitation and the clinic’s telerehabilitation department “cereneo at home” in the further development of the therapy concept, and as a senior scientific advisors in the development of online treatment modules for individual patients. We also collaborate on research and the development of new rehabilitation technologies. You can read more on the clinical perspective of the Therapy Science Lab here.
